This video provides a brief introduction to the Oil Printing photographic process. Invented in the 1880s and popularized by the Pictorialist movement, Oil Printing exploits the fact that oil and water don’t mix. The application by hand of the oil based (lithographic) ink presents extraordinary control in creating the final image, encouraging creative self expression.
