Darkroom & Digital Labs
Photoworks offers a community lab option for individuals with printing experience who wish to work independently.
The darkroom and digital labs are staffed by an experienced photographer and an introduction to the facility and procedures will be provided for new attendees. No reservation is required during our open lab hours.

The Traditional Darkroom is equipped with Omega, Beseler and Saunders enlargers for black & white printing and film developing in formats 35mm, 2-1/4, and 4×5. The facility has two developing rooms, as well as a film dryer, a drum dryer for prints, and mat-cutting and dry-mounting equipment. Chemistry is provided. Attendees provide paper.

Traditional Darkroom: $15.00/hour
The Digital Lab has six computers with the Adobe Creative Cloud photography applications, Lightroom Classic and Photoshop, two flatbed scanners, and three printers:
Epson P800, Epson 3880, and Epson 9900. Students are encouraged to bring their own laptops, if they prefer.
Digital Lab: $20.00/hour Tech Support Charge (if applicable)

Photoworks offers professional inkjet printing services to provide our students and clients with print proofs as well as final, exhibition-quality prints. The cost of printers and printing supplies has significantly increased over the last few years - well over 30% in many cases.
Our printing charges are based on which printer is being used, the cost of the paper used, and the level of technical support the photographer needs to make prints. For simplicity, our printing charges are based on the square feet of paper used to make each print.
