About the Course
Learn the creative secrets of studio photography with lighting master Frank Van Riper in a simpatico, no-pressure environment. Frank will supply all lighting gear. We will cover table-top, still life, portraiture, product/artwork photography and more. Minimum age 18. More info: gvr@gvrphoto.com.
In his long career, Frank Van Riper has shot record album covers, layouts for multiple magazines, national ad campaigns, and gotten up close and personal with tigers while shooting for Ringling Bros. He knows how to get results on deadline and how to work around thorny lighting issues. Let him help you do the same.

Frank Van Riper

Frank is an award-winning documentary and fine art photographer, journalist and author whose work has been published internationally.
He has lectured widely, including at the Maine Photographic Workshops and the Smithsonian Resident Associate program. In 2007 he was awarded the Distinguished Achievement Award from the University of Maine at Machias for his “outstanding career in journalism and photography” and in 2011 was inducted into the City College of New York Communications Alumni Hall of Fame.
At Photoworks he teaches a myriad of classes, including: Lighting Basics, Glen Echo Park at Night, La Faccia - Photographing the Face, and Photographing Artwork.
