Learn how to use Collections, the powerful organizing tool in Lightroom Classic.
Collections bring together photos from across your hard drives without the need to create duplicates. They help you identify your best work and then focus on it.
Gather photos from an event, a trip or just a theme you want to explore, then share them to social media.
What you will learn:
• How Lightroom Classic works under the hood as a database and how that makes it possible to create “virtual folders” called Collections.
o Multiple Collections can contain the same photo. Edits to a photo appear in all Collections it belongs to.
• How to create Collections.
o Create a standard Collection by drag and drop or keystroke.
o Create a Smart Collection based on information Lightroom Classic stores about each photo: Capture date, Star Rating, Color Label, Camera and lens, Exposure data or Keyword (among many other criteria).
• Learn how collections can be used: events, trips, subjects, themes.
• Use Collections to edit a large group of photos, narrowing down good shots to the best.
Class includes live software demonstrations plus hands-on practice with your images.
Class will be held online using Zoom with recordings available afterward.
Requirements:
• Skill level: Intermediate – this class will be hard to understand if you don’t have a basic understanding of how to work with Lightroom Classic.
