About the Course
Prowl Glen Echo Park's wonderful, neon-lit shadows with lighting guru Frank Van Riper. You will 'interpret' the Park's stunning Art Deco forms and buildings through a number of different, easy-to-learn techniques, including time exposure, drag-flash and flash while zooming. The park will come alive as you never have seen it–and all will be done in-camera. Minimum age 18. More info: gvr@gvrphoto.com.
If any class ever represented the idea that 'there are no rules' it is this one. Frank will show you how to get the most from your gear, using it in ways you probably never thought of. You will need a camera that lets you work in ALL MANUAL mode--as well as a tripod

Frank Van Riper
Frank is an award-winning documentary and fine art photographer, journalist and author whose work has been published internationally.
He has lectured widely, including at the Maine Photographic Workshops and the Smithsonian Resident Associate program. In 2007 he was awarded the Distinguished Achievement Award from the University of Maine at Machias for his “outstanding career in journalism and photography” and in 2011 was inducted into the City College of New York Communications Alumni Hall of Fame.
At Photoworks he teaches a myriad of classes, including: Lighting Basics, Glen Echo Park at Night, La Faccia - Photographing the Face, and Photographing Artwork.
