
About the Course
Students will get extended experience with shooting, processing, and printing black-and-white film. Upon completion students should feel comfortable with loading, exposing, and processing 35mm black-and-white film. They should also feel comfortable with making basic black-and-white prints on RC paper. They should understand how to make test strips, how to adjust contrast, and basic burning and dodging techniques.
Knowledge of Film photography and production basics necessary.

Nicolas Polo

Nicolas Polo is a photojournalist and darkroom printer based in the Washington, D.C. area. Born in Bolivia and raised in the US, his upbringing as an immigrant influences many themes found in his photography. Although his portfolio spans across different subject matter and various sports, people and community are where his heart lies - whether in major soccer stadiums or on the road - he documents with the pursuit of showcasing the depth of being human.
