With perspectives ranging from documentary to conceptual, artists are increasingly combining photography with the written word. This introductory workshop will include exercises, slide discussion, and collaborative experimentation. Bring writing paper, photos, and magazine photos. Workshop 2: Saturday, Dec 4, 9:30am–12pm, Photoworks

Learn to cut 4–ply window, multiple opening and doublemats. Students will cut their own standard size mats (8×10, 11×14, 16×20). There will be a discussion of equipment, materials and archival procedures. Mat board provided in standard sizes. Bring 2 pieces of flat art. This is a “hands–on” workshop. Course: BASIC SCANNING

Class 1: Thursdays, Apr 8-15, 12-2pm
Class 2: Wednesdays, May 26-Jun 2, 7-9pm

Students will use a flatbed scanner to create digital images by scanning their film, negatives, slides, prints or objects into the computer. Subjects include resolution, image size, and adjustments.
