Housed in a brand new studio equipped for black & white film development and printing with twelve professional grade enlargers, two film developing rooms, a mat-cutting area, a digital classroom, a studio area, and an exhibition gallery, PHOTOWORKS operates in cooperation with the National Park Service, Montgomery County, and the Glen Echo Partnership for Arts and Culture Inc. Founded in 1974, PHOTOWORKS is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization.
PHOTOWORKS and other arts organizations located in Glen Echo Park offer weekly events, exhibitions, and classes, making the park a weekend destination for many local and regional arts enthusiasts in search of fresh and compelling work by emerging artists as well as established names.
The PHOTOWORKS Gallery is open to the public every Sunday and Wednesday, 1-8pm and during all scheduled classes.
