MURPHY, Lisa
Lisa Murphy, a local artist, teacher and photographer, currently runs her own Washington-based communications consulting group, Grand Communications. In her classes at Photoworks, she strives to make photography a dynamic, creative and fun experience for her young students. Ms. Murphy’s experience includes work as a documentary photographer with “Shooting Back,” a photography program for the homeless in Washington, DC. She served as the director of the Zest Photography Summer Camp, and has worked as a photography instructor for the Horizons Program at Glen Echo Park. Lisa Murphy will also be curating the Young Photographers Competition at Photoworks in April 2010. She received her MA in Communications from University of Maryland in 1987.
