The traditional darkroom is a black and white film processing and printing facility. In addition to two b/w film developing rooms, a printing darkroom with 12 stations equipped with Omega, Beseler and Saunders enlargers (35mm, 2 1/4 and 4x5 formats), there is a film dryer, fiber print dryer, dry-mounting and mat cutting equipment. Chemistry is provided. Students must provide negative sleeves and photo paper.
$20/hour
Minimum age is 18.
Monitored by inkjet guru Eric Bullock, students may work in a state of the art computer studio on their personal projects and images, use one of Photoworks' Macintosh workstations or bring their own laptop. Several scanners and printers are available for use, including an Epson 3800. Students must provide their own paper.
