About Photoworks
We See You Here
Photoworks is a unique community of photographers, located in the arts enclave of Glen Echo Park, Maryland. {Directions Link}
Our philosophy is simple: Creative dialogue with fellow photographers, an intimate learning environment, and outstanding faculty are the ingredients for creative growth. Through weekly classes, weekend workshops, open darkrooms, digital labs, monthly critique sessions, lectures, and regularly changing gallery exhibits, members of the Photoworks community find common ground with other professional and student photographers while cultivating their own technical skills and artistic vision.
Housed in a new studio built in 2002, Photoworks is home to a large darkroom facility, two teaching classrooms, a computer lab and gallery. Photoworks operates in cooperation wit the National Park Service, Montgomery County, and the Glen Echo Park Partnership for Arts and Culture (GEPPAC. Founded in 1974 Photoworks is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization managed by a board of directors with approximately 17 to 20 instructors teaching quarterly classes.
